What is Culinary Nutrition
The reality is that shaking up the way someone eats is a tough step even harder to do when they really don’t like the way the food tastes. After having 3 kids I realized if I was going to get my family to buy into my way of eating I had to find away to get this nourishing food to look and taste good.
Why is “healthy” eating so hard….
The act of feeding ourselves and our family has become a daunting task. Many families are lost as to what or how to cook dinner and feel scrambled for time. Cooking nourishing meals for you and your family doesn’t need to be daunting. Think of levelling up what you are currently doing; small and simple changes! Why Eat Fibre?
Did you know that fibre is simple way to up your nutrition game! When I talk with clients about fibre most will tell me they don’t have an issue with regularity. Raising Mindful Eater
Mindful eating is being in the moment when eating and drinking. It means smelling and tasting. It means observing how the food makes you feel and the signals your body sends about taste, satisfaction, and fullness. Mindful eating requires you to simply recognize and accept rather than judge.
Stress and Our Body
We live in a world where stress has been normalized. We run from one commitment to another. We live a go-go-go lifestyle. This state of lifestyle is having staggering implications on our health. Consider the incidents of depression, anxiety and the many other diseases with “unknown cause” such as autoimmune, chronic fatigue and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) to name a few.

let’s change the dialogue on body weight
I have struggled with writing this post for a long time. I have written and deleted it many times. Weight loss is an area I probably get the most questions. It is an area that I am passionate about. Passionate because we need to change the dialogue. We need to look at weigh loss as a way to better our health vs. trying to achieve a look.
let’s uncomplicate self-care
The past few months I have been seeing more and more posts from friends, family and people I have known for years talking about how self-care is something they just don’t have time for. How life is so busy… who has time for self-care….. These comments got me thinking. How have we all gotten so “busy” that we can’t 5, 10, 15 minutes to care for ourselves? No wonder disease and mental health concerns are on the rise. Then I was curious what do people consider self-care?
